When a project starts to take shape, there is a lovely moment when someone from outside looks at what you are building and understands the whole idea. That is how we felt with the interview published by iambiente about Kambalache EcoResort: a feature that captures the ambition of the resort while keeping sight of its origin, doing things with authenticity, respect for the environment and a voice of its own.
The interview presents Kambalache EcoResort as a pioneering project in Spain thanks to its accommodation concept based on futuristic capsules. Each capsule is designed as a complete space for a comfortable stay: bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area in around thirty square metres. But the real meaning is not only in the shape. It is in creating a peaceful experience, integrated into a rural estate in Catral and aligned with a more conscious way of travelling.
We are not looking for noisy tourism. We are looking for people who want to disconnect, breathe and experience Catral calmly.
Futuristic capsules with a very grounded idea
The look of the capsules naturally attracts attention. They have a futuristic, distinctive presence for travellers who want to sleep somewhere original in Alicante. However, the interview highlights something essential: the project is not about placing striking architecture on top of the landscape, but about offering a low-impact stay, with non-polluting materials and a careful relationship with the surroundings.
That balance matters to us. Kambalache EcoResort wants to show that innovation can feel warm, close and natural. That is why the resort is not imagined as a party destination, but as a getaway for adults, couples and travellers looking for privacy, design, nature and quietness. The experience is best understood through one word: pause.
Real sustainability, not decoration
One of the central themes of the interview is sustainability. At Kambalache, we do not understand it as a label, but as a way of making decisions. The project avoids aggressive solutions when more respectful alternatives exist; for example, work is underway on a shallow natural lake instead of a conventional swimming pool, reducing the use of concrete and hard materials.
The philosophy of reuse is also part of our story. Before the ecoresort came Kambalache restaurant, known for a building made with recycled shipping containers. That same approach now continues in the resort: reception, common areas, events and cocktail spaces are being developed through the reuse of containers and materials that already had a previous life.
For us, recycling is not only about making use of resources. It is about telling an honest story: transforming something industrial or discarded into a place with character, beauty and purpose. That idea sits very close to the Kambalache spirit.
The Argentine soul of Kambalache
The interview also recalls the gastronomic origin of the project. Andres Quiroga, Argentine chef and founder of Kambalache, has spent years defending a direct, recognisable and unpretentious cuisine: Argentine grill, good produce, fire and honesty. The ecoresort grows from that same way of understanding hospitality.
That means Kambalache EcoResort will not only be a beautiful place to stay. It aims to be an experience with personality: rest in capsules, nature, gastronomy, gathering and a way of welcoming people that comes from far back. The Argentine soul is not a decorative detail; it is an energy of welcome, a way of sharing and a belief in the authentic.
Catral as the starting point
We are especially happy that iambiente placed the project clearly in Catral, because the place matters. We are on a rural estate, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and close to many points of interest in Alicante and the Costa Blanca. This location makes another type of getaway possible: quiet, connected to the land and different enough to stay in the memory.
Kambalache EcoResort wants to bring value to the local area. We want guests to discover the capsules, yes, but also Catral, the Vega Baja, the nearby nature and a kind of tourism that can look to the future without forgetting the ground beneath its feet.
